Probably carnations because they can be dyed any color and are very hardy.

I would say use what ever you like, the idea of using whatever was the deceased%26#039;s favourite is the best bet.

The deceased%26#039;s favorite is always a nice touch. Recently, a live plant is sent to commerate the person%26#039;s life and and life in the hereafter. The deceased%26#039;s family can take it with.

Colour is usually white or red, or other colours depending on the personality of the deceased. Most I%26#039;ve seen are pale and pastel colours. I know of some who will send a plant instead of flowers, so that the plant will continue to grow and serve as a reminder.

Depends what kind of flowers the person liked, if they liked roses then I would use a lot of roses in the baskets or sprays..ect whatever you chose..

Do you feel this is wrong? Concerning a distant family funeral?
I have known my wife for 16 years. Recently a cousin of hers died. I have never met this person, even though she only lived about 5 miles from our home. My wife went to visit her everyday the last few weeks at the hospital. The father of the cousin that died asked my wife to ask me to be a pallbearer at the funeral. I have no plans to go to the funeral because I don%26#039;t know this person, and I certainly don%26#039;t feel comfortable being a pallbearer for someone that I don%26#039;t know. I just went to the funeral home to pay my respects and stayed about a half hour. We also had flowers sent to the funeral home. I told my wife that I don%26#039;t feel comfortable being a pallbearer at a funeral for someone that I never met, and that they should find family members that she knew to do that job. Am I being unreasonable?
